Learning Support Assistants
The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at Sutton House Academy will provide high-quality, targeted support to students with specific Special Educational Needs (SEN) across KS1, KS2, KS3, and KS4. This role involves working closely with students who have a range of needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, autism, speech and language challenges, and other learning barriers.
The LSA will work alongside teaching staff to deliver tailored support, ensuring that students are engaged, motivated, and able to access the curriculum in a way that meets their individual learning needs. The role requires a flexible, patient, and proactive approach, providing both academic and emotional support to ensure students are given every opportunity to succeed and thrive

Sutton House Academy aims to support all students with their specific needs and barriers to learning to enable them to reach their full potential both academically and in terms of managing their behaviour. This is achieved by providing high quality teaching and learning and by using assessment, engagement and developing educational programmes. The Academy works actively with students and their parents/carers to ensure positive outcomes for all.
Focused attention is paid to the student’s individual needs through an integrated therapeutic approach to the curriculum. The Academy works with families to put in place aspirational targets for for all learners and always celebrate the achievements of students to reinforce their success and achievement.
Any of the students demonstrating the skills and attainment required to successfully reintegrate into a mainstream school will be supported in the transition. Families will also receive support and guidance on how to best work with the school to help ensure their child is successful.
